We live in a fast-paced society where packaged foods and fast food restaurants are convenient and quick, but how often do we correlate what we eat with how we feel? I believe properly nourishing our bodies with real food is the first step toward optimal health. Getting back to nutrient-dense, whole foods that are found in nature doesn’t have to be boring, bland, or require tons of willpower. There is no one-size-fits-all diet, but when you discover the foods that work best for YOUR body, you will feel great, have energy, sleep well, and stress less. When we finally begin to recognize that nutritious foods make us feel better, we then start to make healthier choices.
Eating nutrient-dense, whole foods is undeniably one of the foundations of wellness and oftentimes the first step to a healthier lifestyle, but it certainly isn’t the only piece. For a long time, I focused more on nutrition than all of the other pillars of health including blood sugar balance, hydration, minerals, digestion, and the importance of consuming healthy fats. Through my nutrition training, I began to see how all of these foundations together bring balance to the body. In fact, I recognized the benefits of mineral balance so much, I decided to incorporate it into my practice. I now offer Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) to my clients. The more I studied it, the more I started to see amazing benefits and improvements as people began to balance their mineral status as well as address the other foundations. Hi, I’m Jenna
Welcome! I'm so glad you are here and I hope we can work together. Here is a little bit about me. As you can see, I love the outdoors, especially the beach, but the mountains are home to me. I love to get creative in the kitchen and make delicious, healthy, yet simple meals. (The middle pic above is of my husband and I at a cooking class a few years back. So much fun!)
I'm a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (FNTP). I received my training through the Nutritional Therapy Association in 2019. Prior to that, I had personally studied and researched nutrition and natural health for more than 10 years in attempts to find relief from my own chronic illness. I became fascinated with the body’s ability to heal itself, given the right tools, and knew I wanted to help others do the same. As an FNTP, I help people choose nutrient-dense, whole foods that work best for their body and circumstances, while also offering Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis to give an even better overall picture of their health.
There are an endless array of diets out there, being promoted by health gurus, fitness instructors, and individuals with personal stories, trying to convince you that their diet is the best. It can be very confusing and overwhelming to say the least. I truly believe there is no “one-size-fits-all” diet. We are all unique individuals with unique needs but sometimes figuring out what our body needs can be challenging.
If you are feeling overwhelmed, continually stressed or anxious around food and still can’t figure out which diet works for you, what the heck to eat, or which supplements to take, I can help.
Maybe you’re here because you are sick of trying every diet and health trend out there and still don’t feel optimal. Maybe you are completely overwhelmed and figuring out which foods to eat is the last thing you have time for. Maybe you just want to feel more centered and less anxious as you deal with everyday stressors and obligations. Maybe you are just completely burnt out and don’t have any energy left to focus on your own needs. Or maybe you’re just feeling stuck and need an extra boost of motivation to get started.
Believe me I get it, I felt overwhelmed and stressed about my health for years. As a stay home mom of two young children, I battled chronic mysterious symptoms ranging from anxiety, brain fog, insomnia, hormone imbalances, severe PMS, chronic muscle pains, digestive issues, chronic fatigue, and so many more. I truly believed I could heal my body through nutrition, but figuring out which diet I needed stressed me out even more. And that only made my situation worse. What seemed to work for other people wasn’t working for me and it was beyond frustrating. As it turns out, it wasn't just about my diet!
In 2020 I finally got a diagnosis of chronic Lyme Disease and Mold Illness (or CIRS) and all of my seemingly unrelated symptoms finally made sense. I wasn't crazy (although I certainly felt it) and someone had finally validated my health issues. My healing journey will always be a work in progress but nowadays, for the most part, I feel really good with greatly improved symptoms. Over the years, I’ve learned so much about nutrition and the body and most importantly how different and unique we all are.
